One new feature of the upcoming TurboLaw version 2.80 that’s sure to make a lot of people very, very happy is the removal of reference fields from documents – and no reference fields means no more “Error! Reference source not found” messages!

Above: say “Goodbye” to “Error! Reference source not found” in TurboLaw 2.80!

We’ve talked about reference fields and the error message you can get if you delete the referenced form field before. If you’ve ever done some heavy editing to a document, only to see the words “Error! Reference source not found” appear when you printed it, then you will absolutely love TurboLaw 2.80.

In TurboLaw 2.80, whenever you create a document for a case, TurboLaw first fills out all the information, and then it converts any reference fields in the document into ordinary gray-shaded form fields. Because all the reference fields are converted to ordinary form fields, there’s no longer any “reference sources” to worry about – which means the “Error! Reference source not found” message can’t happen anymore.

It is worth mentioning that TurboLaw only applies these changes to a document when you create that document for a case (that is, you have TurboLaw fill out the document for you). If you open a blank document, there may still be reference fields in the document, and if you delete the original referenced form field, you may still get the error. Still, we think that this change will go a long way towards getting rid of this error for good for a majority of users.

This is just an example of the many small, but very useful changes we’ve made for TurboLaw version 2.80. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks of what other changes are in store for this new and improved version of TurboLaw, and look forward to seeing it yourself near the end of April or the beginning of May!
