TurboLaw Document Software Version 5 is here, and we’ve got some big new improvements for all editions – both desktop and cloud. Here’s a breakdown of the top 5 improvements we’ve made:

1. TurboLaw can generate documents on its own and no longer requires Microsoft Word/Excel

What this means:

  • Ever have a document not fill out for some reason, or get a weird error message when trying to create a new document? This was almost always caused by Microsoft Word. Now that TurboLaw can generate documents on its own, all these problems go away.
  • Without Word/Excel slowing it down, TurboLaw can now generate documents almost instantly, instead of having to wait seconds (or minutes) for a document to appear.
  • No more macro errors.
  • You’re not tied to Microsoft Word & Excel anymore (though we still recommend them). If you want to use WordPerfect, LibreOffice Write, Google Docs, or whatever, you can!

2. TurboLaw Documents are now saved as “.docx” (and “.xlsx/.xlsm”) files

What this means:

  • You won’t see “Compatibility mode” when working on TurboLaw documents
  • Files take up less space on your computer and are smaller if you need to email them
  • The “.docx” and “.xlsx/.xlsm” file formats are newer & work with lots of other programs, not just Word & Excel

3. Better High-Resolution Support

What this means:

  • If you’ve got a laptop or a desktop with a high-resolution screen TurboLaw will now resize & scale more smoothly, so you don’t have things getting “squished” or text getting pushed off the edge of the screen

4. Documents open unprotected by default

What this means:

  • You can now start editing documents immediately after creating them – you don’t have to click the “Edit Document” button first
  • Documents that contain calculations will still be protected, however (the protection is what makes the calculation fields work)
  • You can still click the “Edit Document” button to protect a document to go back to the “tab and type” mode if you prefer

5. Better Startup Performance

What this means:

  • In a nutshell, TurboLaw should now start up quicker when you click on the icon – this should be especially noticeable if you have an older or slower computer (if your computer is already pretty quick you might not notice the improvement as much).

These are just some of the biggest improvements we’ve made in Version 5. You can view the full list of changes in TurboLaw by clicking on the Help tab and then clicking on What’s New.
