Compatibility Questions

Will TurboLaw Time and Billing wok on a Mac?

A. While TurboLaw Time and Billing was written for PCs running Microsoft Windows, some customers do run this program on their Macs. More information about using TurboLaw Time and Billing on your Mac can be found here.

Is this program on my computer or on the Internet?

A. TurboLaw Time and Billing is located securely on your computer and not on the Internet.

Features & Integration

Does TurboLaw Time and Billing integrate with any other software?

A. TurboLaw Time and Billing’s database with your client information can import from both TurboLaw Document Software and Microsoft Outlook. It will not integrate with other accounting programs such as Quickbooks®.

Will TurboLaw Time and Billing manage my IOLTA?

A. No, TurboLaw Time and Billing cannot manage your IOLTA yet.

Does TurboLaw Time and Billing write checks or have calendaring?

A. No, TurboLaw Time and Billing does not yet offer check writing or calendaring. Visit the features page for an overview of features.

Does TurboLaw Time and Billing work with speech recognition (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking®)?

A: TurboLaw Time and Billing is compatible with any speech recognition software program, including Dragon NaturallySpeaking® – there is no specific version requirement. Although certain aspects of the program (in particular the template designer) may be very awkward to use via speech recognition, there is no reason why you couldn’t do so if you wanted to. All of the text boxes in the program are fully accessible to any speech recognition software program.

Is there a network version of TurboLaw Time and Billing?

A. TurboLaw Time and Billing is already “Network Ready”. You just need to purchase however many license of TurboLaw you would need. (You can also use TurboLaw Time and Billing on as many computers as you like during your free trial!)

Can more than one person use TurboLaw Time and Billing at the same time?

A. There are several different ways you could have more than one person using TurboLaw Time and Billing at the same time:

  1. If you have a network, you can have TurboLaw installed on each computer, while sharing the data between the users (the data must be saved somewhere on your network where all users can access it). TurboLaw is licensed “per computer,” so you just need to purchase a license for each computer.
  2. If you have multiple people sharing the same (physical) computer, then only one person will be able to use TurboLaw at a time.
  3. If you have a server (e.g., Citrix or Terminal Services) you can have multiple people using TurboLaw at the same time, but for server installations, TurboLaw is licensed “per user,” so you will need to purchase a license for each user.

How do I receive my software after I purchase?

A. After your purchase you will be emailed the link to download. Use this link on however many computers for which you have purchased licenses.

What happens if I need to change computers?

A. No problem. If you are a current subscription customer, just move TurboLaw Time and Billing as you move your other software. The software will ask you to activate on your new computer – just give it the license number that we sent you when you originally purchased the software. If you have lost your license number or can’t find it for any reason, just contact us and we’ll happily send it to you again.
