Mac Compatibility
If you have questions about your ability to use TurboLaw, please consult your Mac IT professional, or have them contact us for guidance.
Option 1 – Microsoft Windows “Emulation”
Most modern Macintosh computers can run a type of program that “emulates” or “pretends” to be a regular Windows-based PC for the purpose of running Windows-based programs.
To use this option, you will need:
- Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, or Microsoft Virtual PC
- Microsoft Office XP or later for Windows, not Mac
- A valid copy of Microsoft Windows (XP or later)
Each of these software emulators has its own system requirements – please consult with the individual vendors for more details.
Option 2 – Dual-Boot
If you have a modern Intel-based Macintosh computer, you may be able to use Apple’s Boot Camp software. This will allow you to choose, when you turn on your computer, whether to start in Apple’s Mac OS X or in Microsoft Windows.
To use this option, you will need:
- A modern Intel-based Macintosh computer
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard and the Boot Camp software
- Microsoft Office 2000 or later for Windows, not Mac
- A valid copy of Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
